We mow, edge and whipper-snip residential lawns across Brendale, Moreton Bay and Brisbane's north, either on a regular schedule or as a one-off cut. A standard mowing visit covers the whole lawn area front and back. Here's exactly what we do on each visit:
Mowing at the right height
We set the deck height for your grass type. Couch and zoysia can be cut lower than buffalo or kikuyu, and we never take off more than about a third of the leaf in one cut.
Edging
Paths, driveways and garden bed edges are cut with a proper edger so the line stays crisp between visits.
Whipper-snipping
Fence lines, letterboxes, clotheslines, trees and anywhere the mower can't reach.
Blowing down
Clippings are blown off paths, driveways, patios and the street gutter out the front.
Clippings removed
Catcher clippings are taken away. If you prefer, we can mulch-mow in the right conditions or leave clippings for your green bin.

The council verge in front of the property is included on request.

Signs it's time to book regular mowing
Lawns in south-east Queensland can go from neat to shaggy in a fortnight over summer. It's worth booking a regular mow if:
- The lawn is going to seed or the grass has flopped over and is hard to push a mower through
- You're scalping the lawn each time because it's grown too long between cuts
- Edges have grown over paths and the driveway
- Weekends keep disappearing to mowing, or you've stopped being able to do it yourself
- You're renting the house out, selling, or away for long stretches
- The mower has broken down again and you don't want to replace it
Mowing through a Moreton Bay year
Our warm, humid summers mean fast growth from about October through to April. After a week of storms, couch and kikuyu can put on centimetres of growth, and a lawn left for a month is hard to bring back without scalping it. Regular cuts keep the grass dense, which also crowds out weeds like summer grass and crowsfoot.
Growth slows right down from late May, and many lawns only need a cut every three to four weeks through winter. We raise the cutting height slightly in the cooler months and in dry spells, because longer leaf shades the soil and helps the lawn cope with frost on the flats around Lawnton and Bray Park and with dry westerly winds in August and September.
Plenty of yards around here have heavy clay soil that stays soft after rain. We avoid mowing waterlogged lawns where the wheels would rut the surface, and we'll reschedule rather than damage it.

What affects the price
Every lawn is priced on its own. We don't charge by the hour for regular mowing. Instead we quote a set price per visit based on:
Lawn size
The total area front, back and side, and whether the nature strip is included.
How long it's been
A lawn that's been left for months takes much longer on the first visit than on a regular cut.
Access and slope
Narrow side gates, steps, steep banks and lots of obstacles all add time.
Edging and trimming
Long fence lines, lots of garden beds and many edges take longer than an open lawn.
Frequency
Regular visits keep each job quicker than occasional catch-up cuts.

Lawn Mowing FAQs
How often should I get my lawn mowed in Moreton Bay?
In the warmer months, from roughly October to April, most lawns need mowing every one to two weeks. In winter every three to four weeks is usually enough. We set the frequency for your lawn and change it with the seasons.
Do I need to be home when you mow?
No. As long as we can get into the yard, you don't need to be there. Let us know about gate codes, pets and anything we should keep clear of.
What happens to the clippings?
We take them away as part of the visit. If you'd rather keep them for compost, or we can mulch-mow in dry conditions, just ask.
What if it rains on my mowing day?
We move you to the next suitable day. Mowing very wet lawns can rut soft clay soils and leave a messy finish, so we'd rather wait a day or two.
Do you mow overgrown lawns?
Yes. The first cut on a badly overgrown lawn takes longer and is quoted separately. After that it goes back to a normal regular price.
Can you mow a rental property between tenants?
Yes. We do one-off cuts before inspections and ongoing mowing for landlords and agents. See our rental property maintenance page for more.
What height do you cut the grass?
It depends on the grass. Couch and zoysia suit a lower cut, while buffalo and kikuyu are kept a bit longer. We also cut slightly higher in winter and in dry spells to protect the lawn.
Do you do anything about weeds while mowing?
Regular mowing helps, but it won't fix a weed problem on its own. We can add a lawn weed control treatment to your visits.
